Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist, Abbott Diagnostics
Auresa Thomas is a regulatory affairs professional specializing in medical devices and biologic products. Her role is vital to ensuring that new healthcare products are both safe and effective for the general public, in the US and globally. Auresa received her Doctorate and Master’s degrees from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in Biomedical Engineering. Prior to attending Michigan, she earned two Bachelor’s degrees, one from Spelman College in Computer Science and the other from Columbia University in Biomedical Engineering. Auresa has previously worked for General Electric (GE) Healthcare (medical imaging), Zimmer Biomet (orthopedics), and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
Since her freshman year of high school, Auresa has participated in numerous enrichment programs geared towards supporting underrepresented groups in their pursuit of STEM degrees, first as a student and now as a mentor/advocate. Auresa is passionate about lifelong learning for both personal and professional enrichment.
